ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What is Almond Chicken Sauce made of?

There are a few different variations of Almond Chicken Sauce ingredients but I don’t like to overcomplicate things ESPECIALLY when these simple ingredients make the perfect almond boneless chicken! Almond Chicken Sauce is made of super basic ingredients. Also, Chicken Broth is the same as Chicken Stock…so this is an easy swap.

  • CORNSTARCH
  • WATER
  • CHICKEN BROTH
  • BUTTER
  • SOY SAUCE

How do you reheat almond chicken gravy?

If you happen to end up with extra Almond Chicken Gravy, store it in an air-tight container and refrigerate, you can reheat it later in a small saucepan over medium heat. It will heat up fast, so keep an eye on it… I would stir it continuously so it doesn’t burn.

Can you Toast almonds?

If you’d like to serve with toasted almonds, simply heat a skillet over medium heat. Put almonds in without any cooking spray…toss and watch carefully to make sure you don’t burn them.

What is War Su Gai?

War Su Gai is another variation for making this yummy Almond Chicken Gravy Recipe EXCEPT…you make the chicken breading from scratch and fry the boneless piece of chicken in a large skillet. It’s made with a homemade breaded outer layer. It’s yummy too…but obviously, it’s not a 15 min recipe which is what the Almond Chicken Gravy Recipe is all about.

While that is getting up to simmer, mix together in a small bowl, the Cornstarch and 3 Tbls.COLD water. If you use warm or hot water, the cornstarch will not become a smooth consistency but lumpy.

Once your almond gravy comes to a simmer…slowly add Corn Starch mixture to Chicken Broth and whisk together. Keep stirring until mixed thoroughly.

The gravy will begin thickening pretty quickly. Continue stirring until you have the consistency you’d like. If you let the Almond Chicken Gravy simmer too long it can become too thick

Stir until you have the thickness you like.

If you want a thicker gravy then you can just mix in a little more Cornstarch and Water then add slowly. Make sure it’s just a little though or you will end up with a clumpy mess.
