Description
P Zol 40 MG Tablet is an anti-ulcer medicine. It is used to treat various stomach and intestinal conditions that may occur due to excess production of acid. These conditions include peptic ulcers (open sores on the walls of the stomach, small intestine, and food pipe), erosive esophagitis (swelling of the food pipe), and gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition where the stomach acid flows back into the food pipe). P Zol 40 MG Tablet reduces excess acid production in your stomach and relieves the symptoms such as heartburn, inability to swallow food, stomach pain, and vomiting.P Zol 40 MG Tablet shows side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach pain, watery stools, and dizziness. These side effects are mild and subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if these side effects worsen or last for a long time.P Zol 40 MG Tablet should be taken preferably one hour before a meal. The dosage and duration of taking this medication will be decided by your doctor. If you take P Zol 40 MG Tablet for heartburn, it may take 1-2 days to control your symptoms. However, if your condition does not improve in a few days, consult your doctor to know the underlying reason.P Zol 40 MG Tablet should not be used if you are allergic to it. It is not recommended for use in children below 5 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have liver and bone problems. If you take P Zol 40 MG Tablet for a longer duration, use it with caution as it may decrease the magnesium level in your body and/or increase the risk of bone fracture. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

Vitamin B12 deficiency
Long-term treatment (e.g., more than 3 years) with P Zol 40 MG Tablet may decrease the absorption of Vitamin B12 in your body. Your doctor may prescribe vitamin B12 supplements or suggest a lower dose of this medicine if vitamin B12 deficiency is suspected.
Lupus erythematosus
Lupus erythematosus is a condition that affects your skin, kidneys, brain, joints, and other organs. It occurs when the immune system of your body attacks its own tissues. Lupus may occur or gets worse while using P Zol 40 MG Tablet. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience tiredness, painful joints, rashes, or lesions on the skin while using this medicine.
Hypomagnesemia
P Zol 40 MG Tablet may decrease the magnesium levels in your blood (hypomagnesemia) when used for a long time. Inform your doctor if you experience any symptoms such as dizziness, irregular heartbeat, shivering, muscle pain, seizures (fits), etc. You may be advised to check magnesium levels in your blood at regular intervals. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns.
Driving or operating a machine
P Zol 40 MG Tablet may cause dizziness or visual disturbances. Hence, avoid driving vehicles and operating heavy machines after taking this medicine unless you know how this medicine affects you.
Use in children
P Zol 40 MG Tablet is not recommended in children below 5 years of age. It may be used in children above five years of age for short-term treatment (for up to 8 weeks).
Missed Dose
Try not to skip the dose of P Zol 40 MG Tablet. In case you missed a dose, take it immediately. However, if the delay is more than 12 hours, skip the dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
You should not take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor in case of overdose with P Zol 40 MG Tablet.

P Zol 40 MG Tablet is broken down in the liver. Therefore, if you have severe liver damage, you need special consideration while taking P Zol 40 MG Tablet as it may lead to accumulation of this medicine and lead to toxic effects. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring of liver enzymes by your doctor, especially on long-term use.
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weak. P Zol 40 MG Tablet decreases calcium absorption in your body leading to a deficiency of calcium required to maintain bone strength. Long-term use of P Zol 40 MG Tablet can lead to an increased risk of bone fractures. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your bone health and mineral status.
Colitis
Colitis is swelling of the inner lining of the colon (large intestine) that may cause diarrhoea. If you have colitis use P Zol 40 MG Tablet with extreme caution as it may increase the risk of diarrhoea.
